I have seen the plans and ideas of city planning agencies and I have found them problematic. The Architects rely too much on 3d renderings without careful site studies and its context. They impose object-oriented designs into the landscape with a blind spot for biodiversity.
The community participation is zero. For a project like this to succeed it requires the collection of honest effort from everyone involved. In Nepal, the people’s hope has been dimmed by the corrupt system. It takes time and a united effort for a transformative policy to emerge. I am challenged and I challenge all of us to change our approach and tackle this age-old inertia stored in our society.
